Insight films is the collaboration between award winning film makers Adam Tysoe and Debbie Shuter. Over the last twenty years Debbie and Adam have produced high quality documentary series, single documentaries and dramas for Channel 4, BBC 1, Discovery Networks Europe and international feature film release.
Debbie started out as a runner and worked her way up to become a commercials producer before attending the National Film and Television School.
Her first film ‘Beigels Already’ which she independently produced and directed, was picked up by the BBC and became a huge hit. Debbie then set up Insight films with Adam and they went on to produce documentaries for the major UK broadcasters. During this period she wrote and developed a number of feature film scripts.
Debbie’s main focus became drama as she worked on feature co-productions with Sweden, Iceland and Germany. During this time, she teamed up with Producer Kim Leggatt, and in 2011 they independently produced ‘The Veteran’, the £2 million conspiracy thriller starring Brian Cox and Toby Kebbell.
Debbie is currently developing a slate of feature scripts, with the original screenplay Dirtymoney currently in post production.
Adam originally trained and worked as a photographer. He wrote and developed his first documentary with Debbie in 1992. ‘The Final Puff’ became Adam’s first film as director and was broadcast on Channel Four TV.
Since then Adam has directed documentaries for all the major broadcasters in the UK. Over the years he has won awards at the Jackson Hole and Tokyo film festivals.
As well as series directing for the BBC and directing his own projects Adam has worked as an executive producer for Discovery Channel Europe and for the £2.5 million project ‘Parentchannel.tv’; delivering 200 online videos for the UK government and the charity ParentingUK.
A keen writer, Adam has written several screenplays and has just completed his feature film directorial debut, “Dirtymoney”.
